I'm against $15 minimum wage

Baltimore City council has passed a preliminary vote to increase the city's minimum wage to $15 a hour by 2022. I am here to say that is a absurd idea tha I am completely against the wage increase.
  First reason I'm against the increase is because Baltimore is by all accounts a fiscally poor city. All over the news you hear city schools have a budget shortfall and layoffs could be looming to cut the shortfall. Schools need repairs, our water infrastructure needs repairing which makes water bill's have all these fees tacked on  to pay for these updates. Road infrastructure needs repair,  Our property taxes are higher than neighboring counties to cover the cost of lower residents paying property taxes.
   Baltimore is trying to follow the footsteps of other cities regarding raising minimum wage, but Other cities in the country that have $15 minimum wages have big industries that employ alot of people with high wages to support that cost. L.A. is the entertainment capital of the world, Seattle is the headquarters of Microsoft, Starbucks and Amazon among other companies . San Francisco and the neighboring area is Silicon Valley . New York City is the business capital of the world.
  Baltimore has no defining industry bringing jobs in the city to support the wages. The city has a hard enough time attracting businesses. With the raise means more businesses will look twice before opening within the city limits, and if they do th increased cost will be passed down to consumers. While supporters of the bill right now are all for it, once a small cup of coffee costs $8.75 their tune soon will change. People are for everything and until it dips into their pockets.
  The last and most important reason I am against the wage. In my opinion a $15 minimum wage does not encourage good workers or work habits.  In my experience I have seen people who are not good workers, always late, always half assing, always making excuses always saying they need more money and honestly believe they should get it because they say it. We all could use more money but I believe when you work and grind your way from $8.25 to $15.00 it improves your habits of being a good, productive worker and you'll appreciate it. Coming in making $15 does not assist in establishing good workers or appreciating it to pass on to the next generation.   The city council has provisions in place on the rules of the minimum wage increase and how it would be implemented. I still think that's not good enough. I'm all for people making a decent living but a $15 minimum wage comes with a big cost I don't think is worth it and the city just can't afford to support. Maybe a $10 minimum wage would be a little easier to swallow. Always remember though that the miminum wage was implemented as a stepping stone not something to keep you stagnant.
