It's Turbo Time!: We Need A Turbo Man Cartoon

Happy Holidays Everyone! If you've read any of my blogs (first Thank You!) you know that I am an very nostalgic person. Following Christmas tradition of watching of my top 5 Christmas movies Jingle All The Way, I thought about something. It's time we got a Turbo Man cartoon.

Within the world of Jingle All The Way, Turbo Man apparently was a huge franchise bigger than Transformers, Ninja Turtles, and Power Rangers. Turbo Man was everywhere in the movie. We saw clips of the Turbo Man TV show, cereal, PJ's and of course the less in demand toys like Booster. I'm sure there were video games, school supplies and more based on Turbo Man.

Back on topic, now that 20th Century Fox is owned by Disney and Disney loves tapping into nostalgia to get adults to spend more money. We need a limited series 6-8 episodes Turbo Man cartoon on Disney Plus. Explaining exactly what Turbo Man's mission was, who his civilian alter-ego is, the city he's saving and much more. We also need to learn more of Dementor's evil plan to take over the world and how bad the demon team were as henchman.

The style of the cartoon could be similar to the short-lived early 2000's Buzz Lightyear Of Star Command (which actually was a good cartoon). We need all of this to satisfy the inner child in all of us 90's kids turned adult kids. Deep Down we also just want an opportunity to shout "It's Turbo Time!"

Why The Hate Against Coach Prime?

Last Weekend NFL legend Deion Sanders was officially named the Head Coach for the University of Colorado-Boulder football team, This move was made after a successful three year stint at Jackson State University an HBCU in Jackson, Mississippi. Sanders has raised the profile of the Jackson State Tigers football team, making them contenders, improving their facilities out of his own pocket, and setting them up for future success.

Even what he accomplished at Jackson State, for some reason he has been slaughtered online and by sports pundits, for his decision to take the Colorado job. I've heard "sell-out" thrown around, I've heard he was supposed to stay at Jackson State and help build the profiles of HBCU's up overall. He played in the NFL for several years so has money, he shouldn't take the job at Colorado for the pay (he's going to be paid $5 million a year). Him leaving damages HBCU's ability to recruit and the list went on and on.

Here's what I don't get. Deion Sanders didn't do anything different than the normal person would do. He performed successfully at his job and someone offered him a significantly higher payday to come do it at their house. Most everyday folks will jump at another job doing the same thing they are doing for way less, hell some switch jobs for a couple grand more just because what the new company is offering sounds very enticing.

Money aside, Sanders also is a competitor and maybe he was ready for a new challenge. We all get bored with our jobs sometimes, and this could have been the case. Maybe Sanders and the AD at Jackson State didnt get along, and this was the perfect opportunity for him to leave and still shine a bright light on the school.

To me, this seems like a case of the crabs in a barrel mentality that Black people are often stigmatized as having. Even if you have legitimate reasons for not agreeing with his decision, be happy for the man.

What he did is no different than what anyone looking for their next opportunity would do.

A Small Nuance Streaming Services Are Missing

If you have read any of my blogs (I humbly and gratefully Thank You), then you probably know I am a very nostalgic person. Not just in big things that molded my childhood such as cartoons, trends, toys of the 90's. Also in little things that you never realized where cool and wish were still done.

One thing is how Cable TV networks would have movie blocks actually hosted by people like TBS Dinner and A Movie (which I wrote about here). Another thing is the little bumpers that would appear before a film started.

I recently watched A Christmas Story Christmas on HBO Max and before it started, I randomly hummed the old HBO theme song and thought it would have been cool to see the old HBO bumper playing before the movie came on.

It led me down a YouTube rabbit hole of old bumpers, including old General Cinema bumpers. In today's instant gratification consumption heavy society, many may not care for bumpers.

I think it would be an excellent way to help bring in new customers and keep current customers of a certain generation smiling, when they see something so small like bumpers remind them of simpler times. Especially as streaming services increase the price to justify the content they provide, it maybe a good "add-on" for people to keep the service.

Before the WWE network was merged into the Peacock app, I suggested they play old commercials of wrestling toys, video games, etc in between programs. Just as a way to remind people the little things that helped them love pro wrestling. The same principle applies here

I for one, know I would enjoy it. I'm sure initially people maybe skeptical but they eventually would enjoy it too. Bring back the bumpers before the feature presentation

Why The Green Ranger Is A Legend

90's kids took a shot to the heart last Sunday when Jason David Frank better known as Tommy from Power Rangers passed away. For a good 3-4 years, Power Ranger mania took over the world and he was a huge reason why.

The Power Rangers as a collective were cool as hell and heroes we looked up to, but Tommy Oliver was simply that guy. He was the team leader, a bad ass fighter, the personification of the "teenagers with attitude" motto, that had a bit more edge than the rest of the team. About as much Edge as he would get on a kid's TV show.  Let's not forget The ladies namely Kimberly and later Kat loved him, and likely a host of fans.

When we played as Power Rangers on the playground, all the kids wanted to be him, for those exact reasons. Let's not forget his Shield and Zords that made him stand out from the rest. I mean he was so cool and admired. He even hosted a karate training session on VHS, so more kids could learn karate just like him. I proudly bought it one year with my own money, in my mind on my journey to being a power ranger. It's a very cheesy cash grab looking back, but for it's time in a kid's mind hot damn it was worth it to start my "training".

His story arc even introduced us to serialized long term story telling and we didn't even realize it. Green with evil was a five part series. One guy gave all five rangers a run for their money, and drew fans in his over the top acting, but hey he was cool. Subsequent episodes regarding him losing his powers had us tuned in as well. When the Green Ranger disappeared, The two-part White Light series that marked his return as the white ranger had us excited he was back.

When he returned to the franchise in Dino Thunder . I was an young adult way past watching Power rangers, but deep down I was excited he came back home. From what I know his time on that series only grew the legend of Tommy Oliver.

The man behind the helmet was said to be very grateful and generous to his fans. Which is all we really ask for when we meet our "heroes". From what I've read about him, all the love he received from fans was an additional spark in his life.

Often times as an adult you forget just how much your childhood influences shaped who you are. To this day I unapologetically love franchises like Ninja Turtles and Power Rangers, I secretly wish I was a ranger getting summoned on my communicator to save the world. Tommy Oliver the power ranger of various incarnations along with his teammates was a huge part of my youth, fans will always celebrate the Legend of him.

May The Power Protect Him.

Disney We Need A Powerline TV Show

If you are a 90's kid chances are even if you aren't a big fan of A Goofy Movie, you're a fan of fictional pop star Powerline. There is no denying the song "Eye 2 Eye" is a classic regardless of how you slice it. "Stand Out" while I personally don't think is on the level of "Eye 2 Eye" is also well beloved.

I recently visited Disney World and while not shocked nor really surprised, I still was in a state of awe at the insane amount of Powerline T-shirts worn at the park. I can't blame fellow Disney guests as I bought my Powerline T-shirt but didn't wear it.

Then a lightbulb went off in my head, Hollywood loves exploiting nostalgia against us for a quick buck. Disney Plus could use some new content, we don't know much about Powerline and would surely tune in. A 8-10 episode limited series of Powerline on tour during his Stand Out World Tour with some new hits sprinkled in would be gold.

Powerline could be a megastar traveling the world and learning something new about each new city he is in, making it educational. Or each episode could produce a challenge or situation that inspires Powerline to write a new song by the end of the episode. The early 90's gave musicians like Kid N' Play, MC Hammer, and New Kids On The Block cartoons, so maybe it could take inspiration and riff on those shows.

The possibilities are endless but the opportunity is there. Disney let's get the wheel churning and give us our Powerline Cartoon.

Why Raising Kanan is The Best Power Show

Power Book III: Raising Kanan ended his second season last night with an explosive (literally and figuratively) ending. By far it was the best episode of the series so far and left me in my feelings that we have to wait until next summer for season 3.

By far Raising Kanan is the best spinoff and possibly the best series in the Power Universe in my opinion. However, when I ask people do they watch it or when I see the social media chatter. It does not get as much love as the original Power or even Power Book II: Ghost. People show Tommy’ series Force more love in its first season. I’m not sure why that is, but people are missing out for damn sure. Here are a few reasons you should watch Raising Kanan.

First and foremost, Kanan’s mother Raquel Thomas aka Raq. Played by Patina Miller, she commands every scene she’s in especially when she faces off against men. You honestly believe Raq is a dominating queen pin in a testosterone heavy world who can hold her own. She’s cutthroat and ambitious, but her words are like a dagger which cuts deep. Especially when she runs down her two brothers and Lts. Marv and Lou Lou. Raq is one woman not to fuck with!

Next up is Unique played by Joey Bada$$, Unique is just as cunning and cutthroat as Raq is. Joey Bada$$ plays him with just enough swagger, you could see why he would be considered someone to look up to in Southside Jamaica Queens. Depending on what the character’s journey is by time the show ends, Unique could be a legendary figure amongst fictional kingpins like Nino Brown.

Then we have the setting early 90’s New York. For most viewers of the show the 90’s was a time you wish you could relive and have that joy again. The show starts off in 1991, we had banging new jack swing music, rap was really getting it’s shine. Clothes were still fly and fit. During that time you were either a young 20 something making your own money, living in the world. A teenager finding yourself, or a youngster enjoying the carefree life that comes with being a kid. Quite simply the 90’s was an all-around vibe, and the setting of the show highlights that.

The last reason is Kanan himself. As the show begins Kanan is aware of the family business, but he honestly is still a sheltered teenager. Some things that occur still frighten him and he doesn’t seem built for that life. A far cry from the psychopath we see years later in the original series. It also is sad to see how close Kanan and Jukebox were as kids seeing as how their relationship ended up. Being a prequel, Raising Kanan has done a good job so far with not getting “too cute” with references or callbacks to the original series. It is however interesting to see what happens to Kanan that finally turns on that switch, and I look forward to that most in the season(s) that lie ahead.

Quite Simply if you have Raising Kanan on the backburner of your to watch list you are missing out. Give it a shot and thank me later.

Ghostwriter..Word!

30 Years ago PBS debuted an awesome TV show by the name of Ghostwriter. The plot followed a group of kids who partner with a mysterious ghost resembling a period to solve mysteries. This show was highly relatable, the group of kids were very diverse. None of them possessed any powers or fighting skills, they were regular kids who used their brain power to their advantage.

The show incorporated alot of sleuthing and alot of reading and writing to solve clues. The team even had their own pens that they used and wore around their necks to write clues down quickly. The impressionable kid that I was, I went and found a pen that I could wear around my neck so I could be cool like them. Many episodes also were an story arc told over multiple episodes, which highlighted the importance of long-term storytelling.

My favorite episodes were the Gooey Gus slime episode, the episode where team member Alex gets introduced to weed. With the heavy message of the early 90's just say no sprinkled throughout the episode. As well as the first story arc of the series with the bookbag stealing bandits known as Thabto.

Looking back at how often I watched it, it's a shame the show only lasted 3 seasons. It could have ran for many more seasons and it's legacy deserves way more love. A reboot aired on Apple + in 2019 and I'm not sure if it does the original any justice or not, but apparently it was well received. Which is a good thing and I hope fans of the revival, go back and check out the original.

What a show Ghostwriter was!

30 Years of Martin: My 10 Favorite Episode's

Today marks 30 years of my favorite sitcom "Martin". Starring Martin Lawrence, the show was a cornerstone of upstart TV network Fox. With an unmatched chemistry from the cast, non stop laughs. These simple words define the show legendary, iconic, game changing. There will never be another sitcom like Martin.

I have seen every episode hundreds of time, even the lackluster fifth season. Heres my top 10 episodes.

10. Really Gina Is Not My Lover

This season 2 episode focuses on Martin attending his 10 year high school reunion, with a focus on getting back at everyone who did him wrong in high school. Including Ricky Fontaine "Pretty Ricky" what they called him. Martin's goal to show up everyone is interrupted when Gina fresh off of an allergic reaction shows up to stand by her man.

9. No Justice, No Peace

This season 2 episode sees Martin deciding to fight a traffic ticket in court on his own. What follows is a hilarious range of banter between Martin, his close pals, and even the judge. The two most iconic scenes in this episode are finding out what GTD stands for, and Martin pleading insanity and acting upon it to escape any charges.

Everytime this episode is on I stop what I'm doing and watch it.

8. Suspicious minds

Season 2 episode Martin buys a brand new CD player that turns up missing. Martin then takes a Don't Trust Anybody approach and become's a detective interrogating his friends. Eventually taking inspiration from New Jack City, he call's a meeting with his friends in all black and his stuffed dog.

Which lead's to this scene that if you don't laugh you need to check your pulse. Even Thomas Ford who play's Tommy is trying his best to keep his composure together with Martin's antics.

7. I Don't Have The Heart

Pam dates a older very rich man and Martin reaps the benefits. While Gina feels the dynamics of the  relationship is off. This episode was a fun poke at people getting into relationships without really knowing the other person. Marrying for money, and having friends with deep pockets and connections opening up a new whole lifestyle for some.

Martin without him realizing him becomes a third wheel in the relationship. He almost has a nervous breakdown when he's loses access to the suite at the Pistons game.

6. Momma's Baby, Martin's Maybe

A little boy named Marvin shows up claiming Martin is his dad. Figuring out the math make's sense, Martin set's out to be the best dad he can be. Trying to make up for all those lost year's he did not know about Marvin. That is until he find's out Marvin isn't even his son, which lead's to this funny exchange about Arizona.

5. Blackboard Jungle Fever

Martin runs into his old grade school teacher Ms. Trinidad. Only to see Ms. Trinidad still has it going on all those years later, and she's willing to let Martin fulfill his childhood fantasies. Martin almost give's into the temptation that is until Gina walk's in on the both of them.

Martin's a bit remorseful about even getting in to the temptation, Ms. Trinidad still wants her prey, and Gina is out for blood. This is a certified season 1 classic.

4. Guard Your Grill

Martin takes winning a charity boxing event too far and feeling disrespected, decides to challenge Tommy "Hitman" Hearns to a charity boxing match. Despite all the training in the world, of course he is no match for Hearns. Leading up to this hilarious confrontation in the boxing ring, which Martin sustains some serious apperance altering bruises from.

3. The Night He Came Home

This season 1 Halloween episode has everyone in the spirit except for Martin who doesn't buy into it. What follows is a night of Martin finding out his apartment just maybe haunted by Old Man Ackerman, and his friends being victims of the ghost. Martin soon show's his bravado is all talk when more spirits come after him.

2. I've Got A Secret

This season 1 episode brings out some bad blood amongst the friends, when secrets they've all held about one another come to light. Everytime I watch this episode I laugh my ass off like it's my first time watching it.

In classic he said, she said scenario. Martin spills the beans on-air about a secret tactic Pam uses to get what she wants at work. Which he would only from Gina, which open's pandora's box amongst the gang of them basically talking shit about each other to one another.

1. Hollywood Swingin 1 and 2

This two part episode featured Tommy Davidson as a highly successful Late night host Varnell Hill who inspires Martin to reach for more.

Originally I only had the second episode listed, that interruption of Jodecis live performance gets me everytime. When I thought about it the first episode is just as funny if not more. While the second episode has the Jodeci interruption and a hilarious beef between Martin and "Michael Jackson".

The first episode of this two-parter includes a just as funny if not more funnier exchange, between Martin and Varnell during an interview. Martin and Tommy Davidson are even trying their best not to break character during this scene. The 2nd half of this scene also highlights the chemistry between the two comedic geniuses and their amazing comedic timing.

A show as iconic as Martin it was hard to narrow down my ten favorite episodes, but in my opinion if someone could only watch 10 episodes from the 5 seasons. This 10 will show just what made this show so special.

30 Years Of Martin: 15 Of My Favorite Scenes

In continuing to celebrate 30 years of my favorite sitcom ever, I decided to highlight 15 scenes that really have stood the test of time as funny to me. Originally this was only to suppose to contain 5 scenes, anyone who has watched Martin religiously like I have. Know's how hard it was hard to settle on just five.

So, originally I picked 10 and that wasnt enough. So here we are with a top fifteen list, but while the episodes themselves may have been funny these scenes just took it over the edge for me. I consider them more memorable than the episodes themselves.

15. "Old School Loving"

In this season 4 episode, Gina has been working an insane amount of hours making things happen at work. As such she hasn't really spent quality time with Martin, and he hasn't really been eating.

The eating part come's to a head when he link's up with Cole and Tommy at Nipsey's. While they indulge in good ol restaurant food, Martin tries to hold strong but eventually cave's in under pressure.

14. "Working Day And Night"

In this season 2 episode, Martin begins working multiple shifts at the station. When Gina objects to it, Martin let's Stan and the fella's get into his head about Gina dominating him. In true Martin fashion, he shows up at a dinner. Encouraging other Male patrons and encouraged by them buying into his B.S. he lead's a "revolt" and it always get's me, when he yell's "Yo Fella's Let's Be Out!!"

13. "Romantic Weekend"

I'll be honest I don't find this season 3 episode on "Chilligan's Island" that funny. What saves the episode  is the famous battle with the rat. Tichnia Arnold and Martin show that they were just as great at physical comedy as they were at delivering lines. It also snapshotted their relationship best, when needed they had one another's back but could quickly go back to cracking on one another. Needless to say they whipped that "puppy's" ass.

12. "Martin Returns"

The end of season 2 finds Martin leaving Gina and friends behind to find his way. The beginning of season 3 finds Martin as Shaquille Sunflower. He's all philosophical now and it's all on display in the second episode of that season. During a conversation with Cole and Tommy, Martin makes so many philosophical comparisons that have nothing to do with the situation really, but are funny as hell.

11. "Ain't Nuttin Going On But The Rent"

Season 3 episode "Ain't Nuttin Going On But The Rent". It's a blizzard outside, there's no food in the house, no heat and Martin refuses to "pay the five". While waiting for Cole to come back with food, the gang hears a knock on the door. On the other side is none other than Hustle Man selling "free range" chicken, and offering his recipe to Gina who totally buys into his foolisness.

10. "Do The Fight Thing"

Gina is a guest on Martin's radio show in this season 1 episode. Stan convinces the two to make it permanent which Martin isn't feeling. He decides to leave Gina hanging and when she cracks under pressure, a caller gets disrespectful with her. Martin comes to the rescue and cusses the caller out full of all kinds of bleeps. While funny this episode displayed just how much they had one another's backs.

9. "Come Over To My Place"

Cole comes to the determination he needs his own spot in this season 5 episode. Which the highlight for me is the scene where he casually walks in Martin's apartment. Martin remarks to Cole to remind him to whip Cole ass later. Cole pulls out a notepad to schedule it. The way those two non chalantly discuss the timing of the ass whipping, like it's normal has me in tears everytime.

8. "Arms Are For Hugging"

This episode from season 2 follows Martin and Gina headed to the mountains for a weekend at a couple s retreat. Honestly thinking about it, this episode is easily top 15, but what really takes the cake in this episode is when a fellow retreater labels Martin "an angry man". Martin responds with a comeback and look that only Martin could.

7. "Lockin' Boots"

This season 3 episode features Gina getting a boot on her car, and trying to keep it from Martin. Martin upon learning she doesn't have it sends her on a wild goose chase across the city for random things. After coming clean, Gina get's her payback in this scene dressing Martin in too small clothing "Air Wack".

6. "The Tooth Will Set You Free"

Turn's out enemies often are just alike, in this season 4 episode Pam is hypnotized while getting a tooth removed. She's end up under a spell to be more like Martin, and more like Martin she becomes during an high class art show. The scene at the art gallery is even more hilarious once Martin and Gina realize Pam is under hypnosis, Marvin loves it while Gina can't handle two of the same personalities, especially as they clear out the gallery.

5. "Get A Job"

I believe this season 3 episode is the first appearance of Hustle Man. As he attempts to swindle Martin for a pizza, Tommy pays for the pizza and pulls out a wad of money. Everyone knows Tommy ain't got no job, so Martin heads down the rabbit hole of what he does in this episode.

The highlight is Hustle Man's line which I always quote "We go back like spinal cords and car seats".

4. "Martin I Want To Sing"

This is by far the funniest Hustle Man scene ever, as well as one of the series all time funniest. This season 4 episode features Martin ever the opportunist, taking a young singer under his wing as her manager.

While he tries to secure a record deal for her. Hustle Man is at the same label trying to secure a deal. Saxophone in tow, he performs his catchy tune "Pick Up The Pieces"

3. "The Closer I Get To You"

Martin fill's in as the talk show host at his job and help's a couple rekindle their love in this season 3 episode. He spend's the remaining episode giving out relationship advice as The "Love Doctor" even being responsible for Pam and Tommy connecting, which he isn't aware of. Man when he find's out this scene is one for the ages.

2. "Fat Like Dat"

In this season 2 episode, Martin feeling less of a man after not being able to sustain working out in a majority female class. Decides to go on a strict diet and workout regiment, Gina not being able to sustain the lifestyle anymore. Use's some good ol' homecooking and his Momma's biscuits to break him down, and in this funny ass scene break down indeed he does.

1. "Your Arms Are Too Short To Box With Martin"

Episode 24 of Season 1 Tommy, Cole, and Martin are jumped by midgets during the early part of the episode. This episode has several zinger of jokes and is easily a top fifteen as well. After being jumped the gang decides they need to learn how to protect themselves better, and enlist the services of Dragon Fly Jones. This scene show's just how good of a comedian Martin Lawrence is with his delivery and his body language.

Dragon Fly Jones is a supposed master of the martial arts, but his pupil overpowers him at every step of the way. I crack up everytime I watch this scene, and it seem's Martin ad-libbed a lot of his movements during filming, as Carl Anthony Payne who plays Cole can be seen in the background trying his hardest not to laugh. This is my favorite scene in the history of Martin, even topping the Jodeci scene.

X-Men MCU Saga

Marvel recently announced their film and TV MCU line up through phase 6. With the new arc called "The Multiverse Saga" with Kang as the big bad of this saga, an idea randomly popped in my head.

The "Infinity Saga" introduced the world to superheroes and aliens. The "Multiverse Saga" will introduce more aliens in addition to magic and multiple universes. The next saga for phase 7 should be "The Mutant Saga".

The concept of mutants were introduced in the latest Disney + show "Ms. Marvel" and fans have been clamoring for the X-Men to be introduced in the MCU.

I previously wrote how the X-Men should have their own TV show within the MCU and not a movie. The more I think about it, them leading the charge in subsequent phases makes sense.

Within the MCU timeline and within reality by time we get to Phase 7, it will be 20 years since Iron Man uttered his famous words and people learned about superheroes. It would be cool to see a fully formed X-men well aware of previous and current world events, coming out of shadows openly to save the world.

Especially if The Avengers have disbanded or taken a break to rebuild the roster.

It also would be cool to see a world who has experienced the blip, major alien attacks around the world and so much more. Still be prejudice against mutants for whatever reason the MCU comes up with. Maybe even better if earth's atmosphere changed after the blip and introduced the genome that sparked mutants.

It would also be cool to switch things up and have Mr. Sinister as the main arc villain planning to eradicate mutants and humans after a failed experiment, or maybe give Apocalypse another go this time but done right.

I'm just spitballing ideas and there are so many ways they could go, but three things are clear. Fans want to see the X-Men in the MCU, by Phase 7 Marvel will have to change the status quo on things to keep audience engaged. If they do follow through with this saga, I expect a phone call to write the film.

Boomerang Is Black Excellence

30 Years Ago Today Boomerang debuted in theaters. Starring Eddie Murphy, Halle Berry, Robin Givens, Martin Lawrence, and David Alan Grier. The film is a romantic comedy about a player who gets played and doesn't realize it honestly. I first saw Boomerang as a kid probably all of 7 or 8 had no business watching it but as kids do I snuck and watched with my older cousins who were in their early teens, and had no business watching it either (shouts out to them though). Had no idea of the plot honestly, I just knew Martin and Eddie were in and it had some cuss words in it.

Fast forward to my early twenties when I watched it again and fully understood the title of the movie. Anyway in my opinion Boomerang is a classic, not only is the plot good and funny. As an adult now I realize Boomerang was one of the earliest examples of Black Excellence.

Marcus Graham was an executive for a cosmetics company. His company is acquired by a larger company founded by a Black woman in which she is still the face of the company. Marcus meets his match in a fellow executive Jacqueline Broyer.

Both characters dressed exceptionally well exuding confidence through their attire. Marcus had a spacious well maintained and furnished apartment, I'm assuming in Manhattan. And dinner scenes were frequently held at exquisite restaurants.

Boomerang was probably the earliest film I can recall that featured well off successful Black people across the board. That were not involved in any type of criminal activity. It even slightly addresses that in a scenescene where Marcus and crew are shopping.

Besides the core cast the Black Excellence was spread across the film. With legends like Grace Jones, Melvin Van Peebles, Eartha Kitt, Geoffrey Holder, Chris Rock, BeBe Drake, Tisha Campbell and John Witherspoon have parts in the film. John Witherspoon's Thanksgiving dinner scenescene is an all-time classic and probably the funniest scene in the movie.

Behind the camera there was just as much Black Excellence. The film was directed by Reginald Hudlin who directed House Party. And the film has a classic soundtrack primarily produced by Babyface with artist like Toni Braxton, Johnny Gill, TLC, A Tribe Called Quest, Charlie Wilson and Boyz II Men contributing.

I thank the cast and crew for displaying Black Excellence before it was a term and showing the world that Black People were very successful in the corporate world. Without many people even realizing it, the characters likely motivated many Black People to go out and tackle the world and unapologetically enjoy the fruits of their labor.

Boomerang is currently available to watch on HBO Max.
